We may see the odd 'one on one' in the playground from time to time and some people sadly do suffer much worse but by and large we take our health and safety for granted.

Yet this is not the case for millions of children around the world whose safety and lives are put at risk every single day. Since 1990, an estimated 1.6 million children have been killed as a result of conflicts, while more than six million have been left injured.

This section explores the reasons behind this terrible statistic as well as our attitudes towards violence. Many films and songs nowadays make guns and drugs seem cool, while bullies at school are sometimes looked up to as role models by their classmates.

Who can you turn to if you're in need?

What do you think?

Some of this year's best-selling singles, films and games have been criticised for glamorising guns, drugs and violence. Do entertainers have a responsibility to inform people about the dangers they pose to our safety, or should they be allowed to create whatever they want, provided it sounds or looks cool?
