Here in the UK, we take going to school for granted. Sure, doing homework and revising for exams might not always be fun, but it provides us with the opportunities to go on and achieve our ambitions later on in life.

This is a basic right. Yet, around the world today, 121 million children still don't have the opportunity to go to school. And in many countries, millions of girls are denied an education because they are seen as less important than boys.

We at Stoke Newington School are the lucky ones. But do we take our education for granted? Surely we have a responsibility to make the most of our time at school in order to help children in other parts of the world receive the opportunities they deserve.

This section contains a range of animations, cartoons and articles produced by Art and English students at the school exploring the right to education and our duty to get the most out of school.

Education is a good thing. Right? Take a look at this funny animation for your phone. Download this animation on your computer and use blue tooth to transfer it to your mobile. Emily, Year 8

"In the UK, all children are entitled to a free primary school education. In Somalia, just 12 per cent of boys and ten per cent of girls go to school. What can we do to change this situation?"
