Everyone should have the right to assembly peacefully. The article lends itself to an interpretation through Dance which is why the Year 11 group chose it as theme for their own contemporary dance piece. But that wasn’t enough for either the group or the teacher. By utilising the inhouse expertise of Alexis Watts who previously trained in Dance and Visual Media they did more than just choreograph a live piece - they created the school’s first Dance For Camera. By choreographing a site specific dance which they filmed on locations in Hackney a live performance piece was given new dimensions through the use of video backdrops.

You can watch the video element of the piece here.

"They’re Year 11 students working on a A level dance project – and loving it. The only problem I have is that they now want to include media in everything."
